چکیده
A study of the ‘archaeological imagination’ is an area growing interest within archaeology and other fields (see, for example, Finn 2004; Wallace Schwyzer 2007), Michael Shanks’s book a timely addition to this important inspiring subject. Building on his Experiencing Past (1992) collaborative works, author makes foray into worlds that create are created by archaeological remains experiences them, in journey as much personal reflection disciplinary one. He does, however, emphasise he expanding out from definition archaeology, blending literature, current popular culture, historical texts, remains, antiquarian interpretation, philosophy, cultural geography, geology, photography, contemporary art social theory.
